For accountants, solicitors and corporate finance advisers

Your client wants to sell. The business isn't ready yet.

I prepare it, and hand it back to you ready for market. You keep the relationship and lead the transaction – I help the owner build a business worth taking to buyers.

01

You keep the client.

I don't run sale processes, hold mandates or take a completion fee. When the business is ready, it goes back to you – or to whichever adviser you and the owner choose – to take to market.

02

I do the work, not just the report.

A readiness review is the start, not the deliverable. I work alongside the owner and their team on the things a buyer will test – owner dependency, reporting, customer concentration, succession, the story behind the numbers – until they are fixed.

03

The owner gets an honest view early.

Most owners hear “not yet” from the market, nine months and a lot of goodwill into a process. I'd rather they heard it from me, with a plan attached, while there is still time to act on it.

04

The mandate is better when it arrives.

A business that has been prepared sells faster, with fewer surprises in due diligence and less chipping on price. That makes your job easier and your fee more certain.

When to make an introduction

  • An owner tells you they'd like to sell "in a few years" but has no plan.
  • The business depends heavily on the owner, or on one or two customers.
  • The owner's price expectation is well ahead of what the numbers support.
  • Succession, employee ownership or a management buyout is on the table and the owner doesn't know which route fits.
  • A sale process has stalled and the buyer feedback points to issues that need fixing first.

An easy first step

Point the owner to the free Exit Readiness Scorecard. It takes a few minutes, shows them where they stand across six dimensions, and gives you both a common starting point. Or book a call and we can talk through a specific client in confidence.

No completion fee and no competing mandate – the advice stays pointed at the owner's outcome, and the transaction stays with you. See Client stories for how this has worked in practice.
